About

The Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) is an open, independent, not-for-profit membership organization that serves as the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the Asia Pacific region, covering 56 economies.

APNIC allocates and registers Internet number resources (IPv4/IPv6 addresses and Autonomous System Numbers), supports community development through training and research, and promotes a global, open, stable, and secure Internet. It fosters technical capacity building and collaborates in the multistakeholder Internet governance ecosystem.

How to Participate

Participation in APNIC is open to organizations and individuals interested in Internet number resources.

The main path is becoming a member by submitting organizational details and needs for IP/AS resources.

Members can vote in Executive Council elections, influence policies via the open Policy Development Process (subscribe to the Policy SIG mailing list, attend Open Policy Meetings at conferences, or participate remotely), access training/events, and network at APNIC conferences.

Non-members can join policy discussions on mailing lists or during their APNIC conferences.

DCDR Framework

The IO Foundation is not currently doing any work on the DCDR Framework with this organization.

TechUp Fellowship

The IO Foundation actively supports the participation of engineers from the Asia-Pacific region in APNIC activities and meetings and most particularly in their bi-annual APNIC conference.

The IO Foundation actively participates in APNIC conferences and reports of relevant decisions that impact the digital ecosystem.
